‘The outside world was bright and warm, a happy shiver ran down my spine when I finally emerged from the cocoon of soil. When I peeked over the edge of the pot, I saw Little One run under the legs of a taller human and run around the yard. I saw them shriek with joy when they noticed my small green sprout. Little One grinned, flashing their picket-fence teeth.

The Towards Publication class of the RMIT Associate Degree of Professional Writing and Editing 2022 Anthology.
